{what our hearts alone can see}

"Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. But, my people will live by faith."

:: hebrews 11:1, 10:38

I ran into these verses last week and could not stop thinking about the correlation between sight and faith.

A correlation that has been on my mind often in my journey of the last 25 months, that faith is impossible without sight. Not that which our eyes, but what our hearts alone can see.

A sight that allows us to lift our eyes from all that is happening around us and look to Him. A sight that gives us strength. Strength to see Him and strength to follow Him even when our eyes cannot (yet) see.

A sight that reminds us we are never alone. That He is here. That He loves us and is for us and is with us and will never leave our side.

A sight that brings us comfort, the comfort and peace only the wonders of His love can provide. One that enables us to lift our eyes to Him and His strength.

And one that fills our hearts with the confident assurance that yes, “He who has promised is faithful.”

For You are the God who sees.

"I have seen the God who sees me.
You are the God who sees."

:: genesis 16:13
